We've been busy, I started this post when we got home and never finished it...
Our trip to Palm Springs was wonderful! The sunshine was just what I needed to feel human again! We spent lazy days at the pool soaking up the UV Rays and stocking up on Vitamin D. We ate WAY too much yummy food. We got our fix of in-n-out Burger. Darrell and Austin went to Joshua Tree to hike. We spent time with Michelle and Mike and the kids, my parents and friends from Chehalis. We went to the water park (SO FUN!) Lindsay is a little daredevil and was tall enough to go on all of the slides so we did! She is a good ride partner! I thought for sure she'd be scared on the dark tube slide but she just laughed and wanted to go again!
The weather was perfect every day except one... but oh, that one was a doozy! It was supposed to be windy on that Friday and Arianne had been thinking it would be fun to head into town to go shopping and to Ben and Jerry's for ice cream. I thought that it would be a perfect day to leave the pool behind and go. We called up Michelle and my mom and all of the girls head off to town. It wasn't just windy it was WINDY!!!!! We got to town, parked in a big lot and started going to all of the cute shops.
We went to a cute hat shop where the girls tried on hats shaped like hamburgers, patriotic hats, foofy hats.

We went to a cute store called Oooh-la-la, and it's neighbor Shoe-la-la. We went to lunch at a fun 50's diner. It was windy but we just dashed from store to store. A couple of hours into our shopping and lunch we found a shop that had great nail polishes. They had every color under the sun (we knew because we FOUND the sun!!!!) and they have little tiny brushes that you can use to make great designs! Later that night, we painted watermelon and lady bug fingernails! Anyway, after the nail polish shop we were about to cross the street when WHOOSHHH!! The entire "skirt" from a palm tree came crashing down! Scared the CRAP out of us! However, we were out of the small, rainy towns we call home so we couldn't be deterred. We made a mad dash across the street and into another couple of stores. As we went into a t-shirt shop we noticed that one of their glass doors was gone, frame was there to push open, but no glass in it. As I was buying Arianne a hoodie the store owner was calling glass companies to fix her door. Apparently the wind had crashed the door! At that point more Palm Tree "Skirts" had come crashing down so we decided to skip the rest of the shopping and head back to the car. We hurried to the car running close to the buildings and trying not to scare the girls... (that didn't work!) It was blowing so strong that the debris blowing against our legs was painful. Finally we reach Michelle's van and we all dive inside, Jessica and Lindsay climb into the very back , we shut the doors and right then the back window shatters and crumbles into the back of the van! The girls are all screaming! Luckily no one was hurt! We get the girls calmed down and I held a sweatshirt over the back window while Michelle drives. Honestly, within about 10 miles the winds are calmer and there's no problems.
Besides that afternoon it was a fabulous trip!

That sounds like SO much fun (except for the wind part!!) Glad you got your fun in the sun.
Ok...I am jealous. Glad you all had such a good time.
Sounds like a great trip (other than the wind!!). I am so so SO jealous of the hat store. And the ladybug/watermelon polish too.
Though ... how terrifying to have your window blow out like that! Did something hit it, or was it just the wind? Yikes!
I love the pictures....that top one should be your Christmas pic for next year (we'll see??)
What a trip....it sounded fun AND scary. You are such a fun family:)
